## Terms

### Using the site

The pages are free to read and link to. Nothing here is legal advice, a certificate of insurance or a consumer
report, and nothing replaces the states' own verification services.

### The sources, and what they require

This site republishes public registers. Source by source: the licence it is published under, and the condition its publisher sets — read from the publisher's own terms page, on the date shown.

| Source | Licence | What the publisher requires |
|---|---|---|
| Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation — Workers' compensation insurance coverage subscriber information; Workers' compensation non-subscriber employer information | Open data published on the Texas Open Data Portal; no specific license stated on the datasets (attribution: Texas Department of Insurance) | The datasets carry no license field; the portal defines open data as information that can be freely used, re-used and redistributed by anyone. We credit the Texas Department of Insurance and state on every page that this site is not affiliated with it. — Terms read on 2026-09-30, terms |
| Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services — Oregon Active Workers' Compensation Employer Database | Oregon open data (ORS 276A.350–276A.374): publishable data available without registration, license requirements or restrictions on use | No restriction on use. Phone numbers present in the file are not republished. — Terms read on 2026-09-30, terms |

### ⚠️ Not a consumer reporting agency

This site is **not** a consumer reporting agency as defined by
the **Fair Credit Reporting Act** (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.), and
nothing published or sold here is a consumer report.

You may not use this site, its pages, its search, its API or any dataset
obtained from it, in whole or in part, as a factor in deciding a person's
eligibility for:

- **employment**, promotion, reassignment or retention;
- **credit** or insurance underwriting;
- **housing** or tenancy;
- any other purpose covered by the FCRA.

Verifying that a licence exists, directly with the issuing authority, is a
different act from screening a person — and where a decision about someone
depends on it, the check belongs with a screening company that operates as a
consumer reporting agency and carries the obligations that come with it.

### Having your entry removed

If you are named on this site and would rather not be, [write to us](/contact.md) and we will remove you. You do not have to explain why, and we
will not ask.

Two things this cannot do, and we say so plainly rather than let you find
out later: it does not change the official register, which is where the record
actually lives; and it does not remove you from anyone else's copy of the same
public data.

### Publisher

This site is published and operated by an individual. Contact details are on [the contact
page](/contact.md). Hosting is provided by Cloudflare, Inc.

**For business owners: does your company
have 30 to 200 employees?**

AI labs pay companies to license their internal workflows (SOPs,
documentation, support tickets), anonymized and under contract. You keep ownership and pay nothing.

**Describe your company in 2 minutes →**
 Offered by Registres, an independent data gateway. Not affiliated with any state agency.
